Qargha Road, Kabul  Mayor, Kabul, Afghanistan-    03/18/2013

It was interesting incident.  When we returned from the Jalalabad trip, I, Hatsanda’s Father; shared the story and picture of the Jalalabad Tree plantation program with my co workers in Kabul.  A friend of mine git very interested in the project and asked me if we will consider doing such a project in Kabul.

I agreed.  He shared the idea with his sister, Dr. Malali Shinwari, a Congresswoman in Kabul.  She became very interested in the subject and call the Mayor of Kabul to consider adopting the program for Kabul City.  The Mayor agreed and asked us to participate with him planting 500 trees in Kabul City.  Hundreds children and adults were recruited and the city provided the trees.  Hatsanda attend the event, with a homemade sign, and she was considered as “The Guest of Honor”.  The Mayor of Kabul planted the first tree with her.
